Carry
Akroyd is a prolific artist and illustrator. She has
exhibited both nationally and internationally
including at ‘The London Wetland Centre’, Barnes;
‘Leicester City Art Gallery’; Wimpole Hall, Cambridge
(National Trust); and in the mixed show ‘Antipodes’
in Freemantle, Australia. She also exhibits her work
at the Society of Wildlife Artists annual exhibition
in the Mall Galleries, London.
Carry has produced many editorial illustrations and book jacket covers - commissions include: ‘The Sea’ (published by Greenpeace); ‘Sound Barrier’ - collected poems by Maura Dooley (published by Bloodaxe); ‘Barnwell’ by Paddy Kitchen (published by Hamish Hamilton Amin) ‘Stonehenge Complete’ - Chippendale. (published by Thames and Hudson)
Carry’s work studies not only her close environment but also the exquisite colour that abounds - commissions for her illustration work and paintings are welcome.
In 2004 Carry was winner of the Country Man award.
